More info:
- AGE LIMIT - We do not have an age limit per-se, however we find that children under the age of 11 or 12 do not have the physical strength to be able to deliver a 40 pound curling rock down a 145 foot sheet of ice. In addition, we do require that all participants wear rubber safety grippers (which we provide) on the ice. The smallest size of these grippers fits about a womens size 5-1/2 to 6 (which equates approximately to a child's size 3-1/2 to 4. If a child cannot fit into the smallest pair of grippers, they will be unable to participate.
- You can only register once per email address - If you want to register for more than one person, please either register each person individually or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for assistance. Please be aware that although we will respond as quickly as we can, events tend to fill out quickly and may sell up before we have a chance to get back to you.
- If you are part of a group of two or more registering individually, please tell us the name(s) of the other members of your group (or the name of your group) in the "Notes to Organizer" section of the registration form.
- Please note: participants will be grouped into an even number of teams of 4 (or sometimes 3) people, depending on the number of participants. If you sign up with a group, we will do our best to keep your group together, but it may not always be possible.
Things to know:
- Participants should dress warmly but in layers - It is very common to get warm on the ice, particularly when sweeping, so a light jacket that can be removed is a good idea.
- Participants must bring a pair of CLEAN rubber-soled shoes to change into - To prevent debris from being tracked onto the ice, you will be required to change out of your street shoes. Bring shoes that you cannot easily slip out of. No boots, heels, flats, crocs, open-toed shoes, etc will be allowed. We will provide a pair of "grippers" to be worn over your shoes for added safety on the ice.
- Head protection is required - Falls do sometimes occur, and for your safety, we encourage participants to bring their own bike helmet, skateboard helmet, hockey helmet etc. We will provide "Ice Halo" padded headbands for those without helmets. Some kind of head protection is mandatory. Anyone who removes their head protection will be asked to leave the ice.
- A liability waiver is required prior to participation in the event - The waiver will be sent by email to all participants; participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver competed by a parent or legal guardian.
