A Learn-to-Curl clinic is a great way to get your first exposure to the sport.
Our club offers beginners clinics several times throughout the season. We are also glad to schedule private clinics for corporate, school, non-profit, or family groups.
The clinics include:
- 15-20 minute presentation and rules instruction
- 1.5 hours of ice time
- you’ll learn how to deliver the stone, how to sweep, and basic strategy
- plus, you’ll play a 2 or 3 end game (as many as time allows)
Public Learn-To-Curl Clinics
Space is limited for these clinics. Please be aware that curling is played on even teams of 4 (or sometimes 3). If you sign up as an individual or pair, you will be grouped onto a team with other participants. If you sign up as a group, we will do our best to keep your group together, but it may not always be possible, depending on how the numbers work out.
Private Clinics and Corporate Events
Are you looking for a great team-building activity? Curling is an engaging sport that requires communication, strategy, teamwork and leadership. CCCC's private clinics include the same instruction and ice time as an open Learn to Curl clinic.

Bring a CLEAN pair of rubber-soled shoes to change into
Curling stones can be affected by debris on the ice; therefore to avoid tracking anything onto the ice, we require that you change out of your street shoes before participating. Observers will also need a clean pair of shoes, or will be required to wear shoe covers over their shoes.
Dress warmly but in layers; wear gloves; be ready to move and stretch!
The temperature on the curling ice is much cooler than the average room temperature — typically between 35 – 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Loose fitting clothing is best for curling because there is a good deal of stretching and bending involved.
Do I need bring my own equipment?
No. Circle City Curling Club provides grippers (to be worn over your athletic shoes), required head protection, foot sliders, curling brooms, delivery stabilizers and, of course, curling stones and the ice.
Where can I learn more about the sport of Curling?
Visit our Curling 101 page for information about game play and technique. Be sure to watch the entertaining video titled "A Two Minute Guide to the Sport of Curling".
Can children participate? Do you have an age limit?
We do not have an age limit per-se, however we find that children under the age of 11 or 12 do not have the physical strength to be able to deliver a 42 pound curling rock down a 145 foot sheet of ice. In addition, we do require that all participants wear rubber safety grippers (which we provide) on the ice. The smallest size of these grippers fits about a womens size 6-6 1/2 (which equates approximately to a child's size 4-4 1/2). If a child cannot fit into the smallest pair of grippers, they will be unable to participate.
I have a gift certficate. How can I use it to get registered for an event?
If you received a Learn to Curl certificate as a gift or won it in an auction, you can enter the code on the certificate during the registration process. If you have questions about how to get registered or when there will be available events, please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
